"World Challenge provides educational expeditions in the developing world which teach life skills and expand minds outside the classroom. Bespoke 3 to 6-week student travel itineraries foster team spirit and leadership skills" http://www.world-challenge.co.uk/
Recently Phoenix Rotary helped fund two local students to take part in a World Challenge Expedition to Swaziland. On Thursday evening, 12th October 2013, we were treated to an excellent presentation by these two wonderful young people. (Don't knock the youth of today there are so many that are truly nice, caring, outgoing people and a great credit to their parents and their schools).
Alex and Nicole spoke about their trip and illustrated it with slides too.
The trip was in three parts, the first was the initial phase in the building of a water storage unit in a remote village, this work will be continued by other World Challenge students until completion during next year.
The second stage was a trek through jungle, grass lands and over rivers and then finally a rest and relaxation few days on a safari.
In addition to telling us about their visit Nicole and Alex told us about their efforts raising the funds to finance the trip.
