Another very successful Youth Speaks event was held at Heath Cottage on 27th January. Horbury and Ossett Schools fielded teams to present their views on the topic “Is a university education necessary these days?”
Horbury School won for the second successive year, although the strength of competition from Ossett was shown by the level of discussion by club members afterwards.
We are particularly grateful to Rachael Thompson from Ossett School and Stacey Irlam from Horbury School for the time and effort in preparing their teams which were:
Horbury – Chloe Ross, Emma Thornton and Michael Patison
Ossett - Becky Wood, Ryan Byrne and Ellie Appleton
The Horbury School team will go forward to the District competition in Pickering on 15th February.
